Mortal Kombat 11 is getting new story content and characters in the form of its Aftermath DLC coming later this month. After yesterday’s quick tease, NetherRealm Studios has debuted an announcement trailer detailing all of the content coming in the add-on when it launches May 26. You can watch the footage for yourself below, which includes highlights such as playable fighters Sheeva and Fujin making their return. Plus, of course, there’s RoboCop, who will join the game’s growing list of guest characters with original actor Peter Weller returning to reprise his role.
The story content is a continuation of the narrative from Mortal Kombat 11’s initial release, serving as the first time any entry in the classic fighting series has received a proper post-launch extension of its campaign.
When the content launches later in May, players can purchase the expansion on its own for $39.99 or take advantage of the Kollection option, which will net you Mortal Kombat 11, its first Kombat Pack expansion, and the new Aftermath expansion for $59.99. Aftermath will be available digitally on May 26, though a physical release is planned to launch in the Americas sometime in June.
Mortal Kombat 11 owners uninterested in the DLC can still join in on the fun upon launch, however, as new Stage Fatalities, Friendships (which are returning after being absent in the past entry), and new stages are coming as part of a free update. Two of the stages returning include Dead Pool and Soul Chamber.

Three new character skin packs will also be released for owners of Aftermath after launch.
The amount of content being added to the game one year after its launch is impressive, especially considering NetherRealm has already dished out a healthy fighter Kombat Pack throughout the last year. This first round of DLC content included the likes of DC Comics’ Joker, the Terminator T-800, and the long-requested Spawn, making RoboCop only the most recent in a long line of unique guest characters.
The Mortal Kombat franchise has been busy in the public eye lately, as the series recently saw an animated movie release in the form of Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge when it premiered last month.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available on Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
