Cyan Worlds Inc.’s ground-up remake of Myst, the classic ‘90s adventure puzzle game, is ready to leave VR for other, more standard platforms. The Myst remake is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox Game Pass, Epic Games Store, Steam, and GOG with a release date set for August 26, 2021. Cyan Worlds had brought the game to Oculus devices late last year as a VR experience. Now, on supported platforms, you will be able to play the VR version with Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift S, and Oculus Quest via Oculus Link, or you can play without VR of course. You can watch the Myst remake release date trailer below.
Cyan Worlds, which is responsible for the original game, added more details and goodies to its Myst reimagining, including new art, sounds, and interactions. Plus, those familiar with the original classic can take advantage of an optional puzzle randomizer. The remake further comes with different languages options and accessibility options for every type of player.
