Evo 2022 may have come and gone, but it left us with some exciting fighting game news. For one thing, gamers are getting an avenue to play Marvel vs Capcom 2 again, with Arcade1Up’s fancy cabinet. And if you are a fan of SNK titles, the company had an awesome announcement to share at Evo 2022: A new entry in the Fatal Fury / Garou series has been greenlit, via a teaser trailer.

Not much to go on for this new Fatal Fury / Garou yet, but there are things highlighted in the footage. The silhouette of series veteran Billy Kane can be seen, as well as a long-haired gentleman I can’t make out. Front and center is Rock Howard, the main character from the last game, Garou: Mark of the Wolves. And then the words that the new game has been greenlit appear. No release date, no platforms, not even a mention if the title is in active development. Still, for fans of the series, this was an unexpected but welcome reveal.
It has been over 20 years since we had a new game in the Fatal Fury franchise. Sure, characters like Rock Howard and Terry Bogard have appeared in The King of Fighters XV and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but those instances are more like cameos. Suffice to say, players will be hungry for whatever information trickles out next.
