Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Direct showcase to air digitally on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, lasting for about 40 minutes and premiering at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT. It will focus primarily on games launching this winter and will be viewable on YouTube. This is the first Direct of any kind since the 26-minute Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase back in June, which had focused on third-party games. This September 13, 2022 Nintendo Direct will be a larger, broader event, and first-party game announcements are expected.
Tune in at 7 a.m. PT tomorrow, 9/13, for a #NintendoDirect livestream featuring roughly 40 minutes of information mostly focused on #NintendoSwitch games launching this winter.

It’s generally a perpetual mystery what will or will not appear at a Nintendo Direct. However, GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb reported recently that Nintendo Switch ports of both The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess are expected to be unveiled there. He went so far as to say this Direct could be a “Zelda blowout,” suggesting there could be new information about the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Although, that game is launching in the spring.
There are further reports that the long-rumored Metroid Prime remaster will be unveiled for Switch. So, GameCube ports to Switch might become a theme of the Direct.
Lastly, big Nintendo Switch Online updates tend to come in September, so this could be when Nintendo finally announces the inclusion of Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and/or Game Boy Advance games for the service. As always, it’s best to keep expectations in check, but the September 13, 2022 Nintendo Direct is bound to have something that will pique your interest.
