With its U.S. launch approaching, Nintendo has unveiled pricing details about its highly-anticipated exercise game Wii Fit.
Nintendo has said the Wii Fit bundle, including the game and the unique Wii Balance Board controller, will have a suggested retail price of $89.99 for its U.S. release. Nintendo also announced that the first 1000 customers who place a $5 pre-order deposit on the game between April 18-20 at the Nintendo World store in New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza will receive a limited edition Wii Fit t-shirt featuring a picture and reproduced autograph of legendary Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto.
Wii Fit features over 40 yoga, aerobic, strength training and balance activities, brought together in a fun and simple way to integrate exercise into daily routines. Individual users can set their own fitness goals, using the software to track their progress over time. Miyamoto’s fixation on his own body weight inspired him to design the game, which he describes as aiming to “make you aware of your body.”
Wii Fit was originally launched in Japan on December 1, 2007, and has already achieved significant success, with sales of over 1.4 million units through mid-February in that country alone. Wii Fit is coming to the U.S. on May 19; for more information, go to WiiFit.com.
