Obi-Wan Kenobi Release Date Officially Set for May, Drops Poster Star Wars Disney+

This is the series you are looking for. With The Book of Boba Fett wrapping up (for better or for worse), Disney+ is letting us all know that there’s plenty more Star Wars around the corner. The streamer today announced an official release date of May 25, 2022 for limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi, confirming a report from last week.

The show, which has been long in the works and seen multiple delays due to creative differences and COVID-19, brings Ewan McGregor back to the role for the first time since the prequel trilogy ended. It will take place 10 years after the end of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and possibly see Obi-Wan on Tatooine as he looks over Luke Skywalker and deals with the fallout of nearly every Jedi being slaughtered.

Deborah Chow, who helmed the third episode of The Mandalorian, will be directing the entire series. Returning to the role of Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader is Hayden Christensen. Also in the series are Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru along with Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.

With the May release date set for Obi-Wan Kenobi, now we just need to figure out how the Mandalorian will take over this entire series as well.
