Square Enix and People Can Fly’s RPG shooter Outriders is now coming to Google Stadia at the same time as on other platforms. The game will launch on Stadia alongside PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S on April 1.
With the launch on Stadia, Outriders will be able to take advantage of platform-exclusive features, such as Stream Connect, which allows users to watch their friends play via real-time picture-in-picture video.
“We’re excited to team with Google to bring OUTRIDERS to Stadia with Stadia(-)exclusive features and the highest levels of performance, allowing players to get the best experience on all supported devices,” Square Enix co-head of studio Jon Brooke said in a PR statement.
Outriders had been scheduled to launch on Feb. 2 before seeing its most recent delay. When making the schedule change, Square Enix and People Can Fly revealed that players will have the opportunity to go hands-on with the game in a free demo coming on Feb. 25.
We spoke to People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski about Outriders in 2019, where he spoke about the game’s development. For further game details, you can check out our hands-on thoughts from last August.
Stadia has seen massive changes recently, with the company announcing the decision to wind down its internal studios earlier this month.
