Oxenfree II is happening, and it’s got a brand new trailer to whet your appetite. Officially titled Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, the game was revealed for Nintendo Switch during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase today as the presentation’s “one last thing” surprise. The enigmatic trailer from developer Night School Studio and publisher MWM Interactive teases the long-awaited continuation with plans to launch later this year. You can see the footage for yourself below.
Though the trailer itself only offers a brief tease, Night School and MWM do have a short description that sets up the events of Oxenfree II: Lost Signals: “Five years after the events of OXENFREE, Riley returns to her hometown of Camena to investigate mysterious radio signals. What she finds is more than she bargained for.”
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals was confirmed for Switch during the presentation itself, but the game also has its own Steam page if you’re looking to add it to your wishlist. It’s unclear if the sequel is coming to any additional platforms.
Night School brought the original Oxenfree to fans five years ago in 2016, telling a coming-of-age story with a supernatural twist. That game is currently available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and mobile devices, so here’s to hoping we learn more about other platforms soon.
