Hit TV show Peaky Blinders will receive a video game adaptation called Peaky Blinders: Mastermind. The game is being developed by Futurlab, who also developed Velocity. The publisher is Curve Digital.
Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is a puzzle-adventure game set before the events of season 1 of the TV series. Players take control of the Shelby family, including Tommy, Arthur, Polly, John, Ada, and Finn.
The story follows Tommy as he uncovers a sinister plot to put the family out of business when a Peaky Blinder is implicated in the murder of a Chinese opium dealer. The game will be true to the TV show, and players will be able to navigate through familiar locations such as The Garrison pub, Charlie Strong’s Yard, Shelby Parlour, and more.
Mastermind refers to Tommy’s ability to plan complex scenarios in his head. Each member of the Shelby family can be controlled, and players can freely reset and rewind each character’s path in order to execute their different skills in coordination.
Each action is automatically logged so players can reset, fast-forward, or rewind until they are satisfied with their game plan. Each mission will increase in complexity. Having the appropriate characters and abilities will be crucial to solving these puzzles undetected and on time.
Peaky Blinders: Mastermind will release on PlayStation 4, Steam, Switch, and Xbox One in summer 2020.
