Phantom Hellcat Reveal Trailer Shows Nier-Inspired 2D & 3D Action

Phantom Hellcat Is a Nier-Inspired Vampire-Slaying Action Game Coming to PC & Consoles from Ironbird Games All in! Games

Publisher All in! Games is launching an in-house game development studio called Ironbird Creations, and its first game, Phantom Hellcat, was just revealed for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022. This perspective-shifting hack-and-slash project is primed to put the studio on the map thanks to its mix of 2D and 3D, as well as its Nier-inspired combat. Although the Phantom Hellcat reveal trailer clocks in at only 30 seconds, the footage still packs a solid peek at gameplay. You can watch the Phantom Hellcat reveal trailer below.

Phantom Hellcat will bounce between visceral 3D combat and 2D platforming sections, but how these elements will blend isn’t totally clear. What is clear is Ironbird’s desire to give players a polished gameplay experience, promising stats to increase, abilities to learn, and “laser-sharp platforming controls throughout beautiful, hand-crafted theater sets.” You’ll be driving your sword through strange enemies as Jolene. She’s got talents of her own, but the pop culture-inspired sets that surround you can be used to take out foes, too.

Check out a short story synopsis from Ironbird below:

Break a leg as Jolene, a rebellious young woman who makes the grave mistake of breaking the seal upon a cursed theater filled with dangerous dimensions full of pompous props. The theater’s seal holding back the darkness weakens until the evil trapped within takes Jolene’s mother hostage. Soon, twisted stories of humanity will begin to escape and wreak havoc upon the world.

Phantom Hellcat does not have a release date yet. Stay tuned for more from Gamescom, All in!, Ironbird, and its brilliant-looking new IP.
