First announced this past February, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will launch this November as the next mainline entries in the franchise, bringing the major innovation of four-player multiplayer within a shared world. It is possible the August 2022 Pokémon Presents will share more details about how Scarlet and Violet multiplayer works. These games will also notably be open-world, and there are unconfirmed rumors that you will be able to tackle the game’s Gym leaders in any order. And while there are inevitably tons of new Pokémon we haven’t seen yet, the new starters have been revealed, in addition to a few others, like the incredibly named pig Lechonk.
What other game news to expect at the August 2022 Pokémon Presents is up in the air. The company could always surprise us with another complete curve ball like Pokémon Legends: Arceus or DLC for the title. It’s highly likely that we’ll get an update for the MOBA Pokémon Unite at the least, in addition to other little announcements for free-to-play Pokémon games like GO.
However, the vague mention of Pokémon “apps” leads one to wonder if Pokémon Sleep will finally be re-revealed to the public, if it has not been quietly shelved. If it appears at the August 2022 Pokémon Presents, it will surely eclipse everything else that appears.
