Pokemon X and Y‘s catchy tunes can now be downloaded straight to your Pokedex – or at least your iPod.
The Pokemon series has given us some seriously catchy music over the years, but it’s usually hard to find those tunes in a convenient package. Well, no more – The Pokemon Company just released the Pokemon X & Pokemon Y: Super Music Collection on iTunes. The collection covers 3.5 hours of music across more than 200 songs, along with some bonus tracks.
This is the first time Pokemon has worked with Apple to get its earworms onto iTunes, but there’s more where this came from. Fans of Pokemusic will be glad to hear that additional soundtracks are in the works, and by next year you’ll be able to find just about any song from any Pokemon game on Apple’s music store. Digital soundtracks have been announced for FireRed/LeafGreen, HeartGold/SoulSilver, Ruby/Sapphire, Diamond/Pearl, and Black/White 1 and 2.
The Super Music Collection has a few bonus goodies, too. The album includes a “battle game music track” from the upcoming Pokemon Origins anime series, plus five special bonus tracks from Pokemon Red and Blue, courtesy of their original composer Shota Kageyama.
The Pokemon X & Pokemon Y: Super Music Collection is available now on iTunes for $10. Of course, you can also buy individual tracks a la carte for a dollar apiece, but if you’ve gotta catch ’em all, 212 tracks for ten bucks isn’t a bad deal.
