But where do we find lore to read? Everywhere! Occasionally you’ll find scrolls as you go around Havenshire and beyond. While most players consider this as backpack clutter, these well crafted missives are amusing to read so I recommend you take some time and loot whatever you find. You may find a path to enlightenment or at least get a good chuckle. Or you may just find a lot of cheese as you go. It can go either way.
Our first selection is Priestly Preening: Be Like Your Betters (found first in Havenshire, helpfully provided to us by a citizen who no longer… needed it).
Not your style? How about the helpful Turning the Other Cheek, which sadly does not cover such things as “Forum Trolling” and “QQing”, but rather… well, see for yourself.
All things considering, I’ll save my gold for supplies and work up for a bulk discount.
You’ll also find a lot of books in Ebon Hold. Feel free to take a moment, sit on a bench, swing your feet and read them. There are Reports from the Frontlines all over the middle ring where you find Mograine. He’s not so fussy about shelving books, so you’ll have to scout around.
As a bonus, you get to read about places you haven’t even been to!
There are of course, more familiar locations.
When your thirst for news has been satisfied, you can turn to fascinating accounts on The Raising of a Frost Wyrm, read a Compendium of Fallen Heroes, browse One Truth in Undeath, and familiarize yourself with The Decree of the Scourge. While it is tempting to post the texts of these great works, the fun is in the exploring, and we encourage you to check them out!
Happy reading!
