Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, demonstrated the PS Vita TV’s remote play function live at TGS 2013.
At this year’s Tokyo Game Show, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida took to the stage to give a live demonstration of PS Vita TV’s remote play function. While it was previously belived that the PS Vita TV would only support the DualShock 3, Yoshida confirmed that the PS4’s DualShock 4 will be fully compatible with the service.
Yoshida also spoke about the DualShock 4’s design, saying that it was specifically made to be much more ergonomic than the DualShock 3 and should fit much better in the average player’s hands.
His live demonstration of the PS Vita TV’s remote play function showed how a game of Knack could be seamlessly transferred from your main PS4’s TV to a TV connected with PS Vita TV. He says once a device has been registered to PS Vita TV, it’s as simple as pushing a button and streaming the content to your second screen.
Yoshida told us that of the PS4’s accessories, including the PlayStation Camera, will be compatible with PS Vita TV, so if playing PS4 games via PS Vita TV will allow you the full PS4 experience.
Lastly, it was revealed that the PS Vita TV would also serve as a media center, as you’d be able to store TV shows and Movies on it.
Remote play will not be available for the PS Vita TV at launch, and will be added in a later system update.
