The rumored retail re-release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the PS3 is a rumor no longer.
Xbox 360 owners may have gotten their hands on the re-release of beloved Capcom fighter Marvel vs. Capcom 2 at the end of July, but PS3 owners have had to wait a little bit longer – the game won’t be available on PSN until Thursday, August 13th. In exchange for the wait, however, the PS3 release will actually have a retail version as rumored … sort of.
Pictures of the PS3 box were posted on the Capcom Unity forums, but here’s the catch – though it’s your standard PS3 disc case, there’s… actually no disc inside it. One poster in particular confirmed the contents of the case:
* Redemption Code for full game
* DVD case with sleeve
* 8 page color manual with artwork and moves list
* 1 month free subscription to Marvel Digital Comics ($9.99 value)
* 2000 Capcom-Unity points – can be used for prizing [sic] and auctions
Unfortunately, it looks like the CD with exclusive artwork and wallpapers isn’t included in the package as the original rumors indicated. Still, that seems like a pretty good deal for $15, no?
