Two of Ubisoft’s upcoming multiplayer titles — Rainbow Six Extraction and Riders Republic — have been delayed. Both delays were announced simultaneously today. Riders Republic has received a new release date of October 28, 2021 instead of September 2. Rainbow Six Extraction, on the other hand, won’t release until sometime in January 2022. The latest entry in the team-based shooter franchise was originally supposed to launch on September 16 of this year.
“We are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves in January 2022,” the Rainbow Six Extraction team said in a statement of the delay. “We are confident this will ensure Rainbow Six Extraction is the immersive, cooperative, and thrilling experience we set out to create, and the one you aspire to play.”
The Riders Republic team shared its own statement, saying that the extra time will give them “more time to fine tune the experience” and allow players to go hands-on in an upcoming beta test.
After a buildup of leaks and a name change, Ubisoft finally gave us a look at Rainbow Six Extraction gameplay as part of its E3 2021 Ubisoft Forward event. When it eventually releases in January 2022, it will come to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S. While the shooter won’t make its debut this year, Riders Republic is still planned to. The multiplayer extreme sports game was set to arrive this past February before the delay to September, making today’s delay the game’s second public push back. Expect it to arrive this October for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
