Rainbow Six Extraction Ubisoft Forward gameplay premiere Quarantine new name

Ubisoft has announced that the name of its next Rainbow Six game, formerly called Rainbow Six Quarantine, is now Rainbow Six Extraction. The game uses the strong foundation of Rainbow Six Siege, and players will need to work together to face an ever-evolving alien threat. Ubisoft will host a Ubisoft Forward digital event on June 12 at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT showcasing a gameplay premiere and deep dive on what players can expect from Rainbow Six Extraction.

Extraction was previously known as Rainbow Six Quarantine as revealed at E3 2019. It was slated to launch before April 2020 but was pushed back for quality concerns due to the negative reception of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Rainbow Six Extraction was delayed once again as a result of COVID-19 work-from-home challenges.

The name was most likely changed from Quarantine to Extraction in order to avoid any negative association with the pandemic. Additionally, another name was leaked back in February, which was “Parasite,” but Ubisoft commented that it was just a placeholder name. Now we know that the final name is Rainbow Six Extraction.

The game will release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S. The release date is not set, but it’s likely we’ll get one at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event.
