Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has received a big gameplay demonstration ahead of its launch in a couple months, stemming from today’s State of Play presentation. Sony and Insomniac Games debuted the extended video there, showcasing around 15 minutes of new footage to help tide fans over until launch.
Part of the video sees Ratchet alone in Nefarious City as he tracks down Clank after the two are separated, while the rest focuses on Rivet as she travels through the familiar-but-different Planet Sargasso. Insomniac walked through a number of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s new and old gameplay features, including the ability to travel through dimensional tears. The studio also explained that it took advantage of the DualSense controller’s various unique features to keep gameplay interesting and engaging. You can see the video in its entirety below.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was first revealed as a PlayStation 5-exclusive game last year. It follows Insomniac’s reboot from 2016, though the developer promises that you don’t need to play the reboot to understand this newest entry.
Sony and Insomniac prepared fans for today’s State of Play earlier this week with a Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart gameplay trailer that focused on Rivet, its freedom fighter female Lombax hero. The game launches June 11 on PlayStation 5.
