Sony and Insomniac have premiered a quick new trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, revealing the game’s release date. Preorders have opened for the PlayStation 5-exclusive game that will launch on June 11.
There’s not much more to today’s trailer that we haven’t already seen, at least as far as the game itself goes. However, toward the end of the footage, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s box art is revealed. See for yourself in the 30-second video below.
Meanwhile, Insomniac Creative Director Marcus Smith had more to share in a new PlayStation.Blog post. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has two versions up for preorder right now: the Standard Edition ($69.99) and Deluxe Edition ($79.99). Both come with early unlock bonuses for the Carbonox Armor from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, as well as the Pixelizer weapon from the 2016 reboot. However, the Deluxe Edition also comes with five additional armor sets, 20 Raritanium, a sticker pack for the photo mode, a digital artbook, and the digital soundtrack.
As a final stinger, Smith teaseed fans hoping to hear the name of the new female Lombax character: “And yes, we know you are asking for the new Lombax’s name. And it’s not fair that we put her in the art and aren’t telling you yet. Hang in there, you’ll be feeling rosy soon.”
Sony had previously teased Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s release date in November of last year, saying that it and a few other titles were expected to launch in the first half of 2021.
