Remedy Is Developing Another New Game, Six Projects in Total

Remedy Entertainment is officially working on another game, bringing the total number of its in-development titles to six. CEO Tero Virtala made the announcement in the company’s most recent business review. Details on the Control developer’s new mystery project are scarce, and the studio says that it’s in early development, so don’t expect a formal reveal for quite a while.

“Almost all of our internal Control developers have now moved on to work on other Remedy projects, including a new, exciting early-phase project,” Virtala said.

Investors followed up on the announcement (via IGN), asking to confirm that this early-phase project had never been mentioned prior to today’s business review, to which Virtala said, “Yes, we have a new project, but it is in very, very early stages. Nothing more to expand on that.”

Remedy’s previously announced games include its campaign modes for CrossfireX and Crossfire HD and a free-to-play co-op game called Vanguard. The studio is also hard at work with Epic Games on two projects set in a shared universe, one of which is AAA, while the other will be smaller in scale. They are evidently set in the Remedy Connected Universe. What makes this current diversity of projects even more notable is that the developer has only released nine games in total to date.

Control, Remedy’s third-person sci-fi mind twister, launched in 2019. The company went without a major release in 2020 but went on to launch Control Ultimate Edition just a few months ago.
