Resident Evil Re:Verse Multiplayer Shooter to Launch Free with Village

Resident Evil Re:Verse multiplayer mode Resident Evil Village Capcom

During Capcom’s Resident Evil Showcase, the company revealed a new title called Resident Evil Re:Verse, which will be offered for free to anyone who purchasesĀ Resident Evil Village (which has a demo today and is launching in May). It is a multiplayer game that showcases many of the franchise’s famous characters. Four-to-six players will face off in a deathmatch in famous series locations, and each character has their own unique skill set. The game will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S through backward compatibility.

While not many details about the gameplay have been revealed, one notable aspect that sticks out is that players can reanimate as a bioweapon once eliminated, as shown when Claire kills Leon, who then transforms into Nemesis afterward to get revenge. Re:Verse also has a visual style inspired by comic books, with characters having bolder outlines compared to in other entries in the franchise.

You can sign up to be a part of a closed beta test forĀ Resident Evil Re:Verse on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One now. The test will occur next week.

Much like last year’s Resident Evil Resistance was bundled free with the remake of Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil Re:Verse will be free for players who purchase Resident Evil Village as a “thank you bonus” to fans.

Resident Evil Village along with Re:Verse will launch on May 7, 2021.
