“We’re looking into it, but we can’t make any promises,” said Kanda. “However, we will do our best to create a top-tier survival horror experience on current-generation consoles.”

Capcom also released a developer diary, “The Making of Resident Evil Village: Winter Comes for Ethan,” where Director Morimasa Sato, Art Director Tomonori Takano, and Producer Peter Fabiano discuss the game. The diary provides more info on Resident Evil Village‘s protagonist, Ethan Winters, who was also the main character in 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

Morimasa noted that Ethan Winters was originally just planned to be a blank slate for the player to insert themselves into. However, the developers eventually became quite attached to Ethan as a character and instead want to flesh out the next chapter in his story with Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil Village was revealed during Sony’s PlayStation 5 event back in June and currently has a 2021 release date. Right now, it is being planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC.
