Industry veteran Mark Haigh-Hutchinson has passed away following a struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Haigh-Hutchinson’s career stretched back into the ’80s, according to a report by IGN, when he worked on the classic Paperboy before joining LucasArts to work on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Action Game. Following that, he worked on titles including the popular Star Wars games Rebel Assault and Dark Forces, eventually moving up to serve as project lead on Rogue Squadron 3D and Shadows of the Empire. His greatest claim to fame, however, came when he moved to Retro Studios, where he worked as senior engineer on all three Metroid Prime releases.
Haigh-Hutchinson, who was married with two daughters, was 43 years old.
