Ubisoft’s upcoming multiplayer playground, Riders Republic, has been delayed. News of the rescheduling was announced on the game’s Twitter account, where the team revealed plans to launch later in 2021 instead of the original Feb. 25 date. Preorders for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S players are still open at this time.
Ubisoft says that the additional time will allow the team to “deliver the best fun fueled experience to our players.” Yet another video game delay should come as no surprise, considering much of the industry is still feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s probably safe to expect more game delays (such as with Hogwarts Legacy) for similar reasons as the year continues.
Riders Republic revealed its multiplayer chaos to the world during an Ubisoft Forward digital event in September of last year. In the game, players can fly in wingsuits, ski, bike, and snowboard across various terrain with what looks to be hordes of other players. There are also different modes to play through, such as Career Mode, standard PvP, or the 6v6 arena mode. Plus, you’ll be able to level up your rider, earning new gear to show off to others online.
In October, Ubisoft confirmed that the game will support 4K 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. Here’s to hoping Riders Republic will be worth any and all delays.
