First paid DLC offers new cars, flames, and wheels.
Rocket League is one of the hottest multiplayer games going on PlayStation 4 right now, and for good reason. It’s a fast, intense twist on soccer in which players drive rocket-powered cars to deliver the ball to the opposing goal. It’s simple enough to be inviting, but has a depth of strategy that can make for some amazing play in skilled hands. Doesn’t hurt that the game was made available for free to PlayStation Plus users at launch earlier this month either.
Now, the first expansions for Rocket League has been revealed and they are a combination of paid and free content. The free update will include a new arena, the Utopia Coliseum, and adds a spectator mode for those times when you would rather watch a match than play in one. In addition, more than 70 country flags are being added to adorn vehicles with.
On the paid side, the Supersonic Fury DLC will offer some additional ways to customize your sweet ride. The pack includes two new body types (Dominus and Takumi), two additional boosts, two wheel types, five paint styles, and six unique decals. The pack will be available for $3.99.
Rocket League remains a free download for PS Plus subscribers until the end of the month. It is regularly priced at $19.99.
