Michael, Franklin, and Trevor are finally coming to the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Remember all that Grand Theft Auto V talk about next-gen delays and a possibly-cancelled PC SKU? From the looks of it, most of that chatter was incorrect, as Rockstar Games today announced release dates for GTA V on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Rockstar Games will release Grand Theft Auto V on the PS4 and Xbox One on November 18th of this year, according to the next-gen launch trailer that was posted today (with the dates verified by Rockstar PR). While the console crowd gets to whet their next-gen appetite in 2014, those waiting for the PC version will have to hold out just a little bit longer — January 27, 2015, to be exact.
What’s new for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC? Rockstar is promising a number of enhancements, including new weapon hardware, new vehicles, and new activities (including wildlife photography!). A for technical improvements, GTA V promises increased draw distances, a reworked/denser traffic system, improved weather and damage effects, and revamped water effects and physics.
A number of classic vehicles from previous GTA are being added as well, including the Dodo single-engine plane.
Pre-orders for GTA V start today, and early buyers will receive $1,000,000 in in-game currency ($500,000 each for your story mode and GTA Online accounts. Rockstar has promised more details on the next-gen and PC SKUs in the coming weeks.
Put down the pitchforks, modders extraordinaire, for your time has finally come!
