Rumors stating the Treyarch-led Call of Duty 2020 will take place during the Cold War and Vietnam War are heating up, with some new tweets from former Kotaku writer Jason Schreier adding fuel to the fire. Schreier, who is known for bringing accurate behind-the-scenes gaming information to light, shared what he’s heard about Activision’s upcoming military first-person shooter when asked on Twitter. Despite the effect the coronavirus pandemic has had on the industry, Schreier says Activision still intends to keep up with its annual Call of Duty release schedule with a new game this fall.
As of right now it's still planned for fall, but nobody knows what's going to happen in the coming months!

Schreier later continued to corroborate previous rumors that said the game will take place during the Cold War and Vietnam War as part of the Black Ops series. Where previous rumors teased that the game may carry the name Call of Duty: Black Ops, Schreier said that he’s heard the name “Call of Duty: Vietnam” get “thrown around a couple times” but doesn’t think that it will be the game’s final title. Additionally, the game won’t be a reboot.

Schreier was the first to share that development on the next game had been shuffled around, with series developer Treyarch planned to oversee the project while Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software provide support.
