Andre Ovredal and producer Guillermo del Toro bring the celebrated sleepover spine-chillers to the big screen with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, a surprisingly plot-heavy youth horror riff for kids too old for Goosebumps but still too young for Eli Roth. A group of misfit friends find a cursed storybook and are soon haunted by the most iconic ghouls of the original Scary Stories illustrations — including the one our resident film critic could’ve gone his whole life without seeing in live action (uh-oh!).
