Ubisoft has finally announced the return of Scott Pilgrim’s video game adaptation with Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game Complete Edition. Following more than a few rumors and lots of speculation, the publisher revealed plans for a re-release today during its second Ubisoft Forward event. Check out the new trailer for the game before the game comes to PC, Stadia, and consoles this holiday.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game Complete Edition comes with the Knives Chau and Wallace Wells DLC and marks the first time the 2D brawler has been announced to come to the current generation of consoles.
The original Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game released in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The side-scrolling combat game, which is based on the graphic novel series by creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, mostly launched to praise from critics, with many calling attention to its strong, classic gameplay loop.
As previously mentioned, rumors of today’s announcement really gained traction after O’Malley simply teased on Twitter that he had been contacted by Ubisoft. Earlier that same day, the director of the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World movie adaptation, Edgar Wright, mentioned that they were “working on the video game situation.” This latest video game incarnation of Scott Pilgrim was all but confirmed by the time Wright tweeted again today, urging fans to keep an eye on O’Malley’s social media.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game Complete Edition releases on Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One holiday 2020.
