Naughty Dog has put together a bunch of goodies to reward hardcore Uncharted 3 fans.
In 2009, Naughty Dog released a collector’s edition for Uncharted 2 that featured a pretty dagger, but it wasn’t available in stores. For Uncharted 3, the company has assembled a collector’s edition that anyone can just go out and buy this time.
It might not have a dagger with which to sacrifice your neighbor’s goats, but it does have some pretty neat stuff instead. The Uncharted 3 collector’s edition comes with a wearable version of Nathan Drake’s necklace featuring a replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ring, a wearable full size replica of Nathan Drake’s belt buckle, a statue of Nathan Drake (desert version), a steelbook case for the game, and it shoves all these goodies inside of a package that looks like a traveling chest. Bury it in your yard and dig it up for the true Uncharted experience.
Sony and Naughty Dog haven’t put a price on the collector’s edition yet, but they say it’ll be available for pre-order soon. Speaking of pre-orders, Naughty Dog has revealed what customers will get for putting down a deposit on Uncharted 3 at various retailers.
Pre-ordering at GameStop gets you the Creepy Crawler multiplayer Medal Kickback (for information on how Medal Kickbacks work, go here), which will allow you to turn into a swarm of bugs.
Best Buy’s pre-order bonus awards you with the Regeneration Booster, which increases healing rate in multiplayer. Amazon gets three pre-order bonuses: the Carpet Bomb Medal Kickback that sends out three grenades with one throw, and increased clip size gun mods for the Para-9 and the G-MAL weapons. Finally, putting down a deposit at Wal-Mart will net you the Callout Weapon Mod, a laser sight for the AK-47 that allows everyone on your team to see what you’re targeting.
These bonuses are early unlocks and not exclusive to each retailer. You’ll be able to find them in-game eventually no matter where you buy Uncharted 3. It’s really how all pre-order content should be handled.
Uncharted 3 will be available in November 2011.
