Spider-Man: Freshman Year, Marvel Zombies Disney+ Series Announced

Disney+ animated series Spider-Man: Freshman Year Marvel Zombies I Am Groot coming soon

Today is Disney+ Day, the magical day where Disney just spams everyone with announcements and/or teasers of new TV series and movies coming to the streaming service. There is basically someone for everyone, even people who happen to really love both Cinderella and designing sneakers. And naturally, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) got some announcements on both the animated and live-action fronts. On the animated series front, Disney+ Day announced Spider-Man: Freshman Year and Marvel Zombies, in addition to reiterating that I Am Groot and a season 2 of What If…? are on the way. All shows are only described as “coming soon,” and few details were offered for any series beyond logos.

The Marvel Zombies brand has existed for years of course, including appearing in season 1 of What If…?, but now Disney+ has seen fit to give it its own dedicated animated series. The animated I Am Groot series was meanwhile announced last December and will be a part of MCU Phase 4. It will feature “several new and unusual characters” in a “series of shorts.” Lastly, all we know about Spider-Man: Freshman Year is that it “follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.”

Check back soon for more big Disney+ Day announcements.
