In yet another Star Wars Celebration announcement, Lucasfilm has announced Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which will star Jude Law and premiere on Disney+ in 2023. The series comes from executive producers Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni, and although this is the first time we have heard the name of the show, its existence was first revealed last week. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is the series that will feature four kids on an intergalactic adventure home, and it is inspired by ’80s coming-of-age Amblin movies.
“It’s the story about a group of kids, about 10 years old, from a tiny little planet who accidentally get lost in the Star Wars galaxy,” said Jon Watts today (via Vanity Fair). “It’s the story of their journey trying to find their way home.” This series will not itself be a “kids show,” but Watts is using the children “to give you a slightly different perspective on Star Wars and see the galaxy through a different set of eyes.” The series will begin filming soon.

So to recap, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will star four TBA child actors and Jude Law in an unspecified role, and it will arrive in 2023. Meanwhile, The Mandalorian season 3 has also just received release date info, and Andor just received its first teaser trailer ahead of an August premiere.
