Star Wars: The Mandalorian Footage and More Likely to Debut at D23

Star Wars: The Mandalorian footage sneak peek D23

Disney has announced details for the lineup at D23, their annual convention to celebrate all things Disney, and it is jam-packed with Disney+ and Hulu content, including what should be our first looks at The MandalorianHigh School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and the live-action, straight-to-streaming adaptation of Lady and the Tramp.

The main event for Disney+, which launches in November, will be a panel on Friday, Aug. 23, called “Disney+ First Look Showcase.” It’s described as an opportunity for fans to take a first look at the streaming platform itself and its content. We’ve yet to have an in-depth look at how the platform will operate with only a few screens teased at its launch announcement. The panel will be hosted by Yvette Nicole Brown and promises content from the aforementioned three shows but also surprises and guests. What those surprises will be probably won’t include something from the streamer’s slate of Marvel shows hitting as they haven’t even begun filming yet. Still, there’s a host of other exclusive shows and movies they could show off.

The streaming fun won’t stop there, however, as Disney is now the controller of Hulu content as well. This means that the convention will also feature pavilions and props from shows as varied as Brooklyn 99 and The Handmaid’s Tale. There is further the promise of our first look at a few Marvel films, which will most likely be footage from Black Widow and more details on The Eternals. Most importantly, however, is the fact that Jeff Goldblum himself will be on location, hosting a Q&A session about his show The World According to Jeff Goldblum, another Disney+ exclusive.

That’s not to mention the glut of more traditional Disney content, including Disney Animation events, Pixar hosting panels and pavilions, and plenty of Disney princesses wandering around to take photos with. You can check out the full D23 schedule on the official site.

D23 runs from Aug. 23-25 with tickets still on sale for some days, if you’re really itching to be the first to see The Mandalorian.
