Bethesda has revealed three pieces of Starfield concept art in a batch of videos highlighting the game’s New Atlantis, Akila, and Neon locations. Bethesda Games Studios design director Emil Pagliarulo narrates each video, describing each area and how they might play a role in the sci-fi title. This concept art is the first time fans can get a glimpse at something new in Starfield than what we’ve seen so far.

First up is New Atlantis, which is the capital city of the United Colonies, Starfield’s most established military and political faction. The art only shows one of the city’s spaceports but still features an otherworldly building drenched in a sci-fi atmosphere.

“The city’s a true melting pot, and its residents come from every race, creed, and ethnicity,” Pagliarulo says. “In a lot of ways, New Atlantis is a true reflection of the future of our world.”

Then there’s Akila, which shares a few visual similarities with the Mos Eisley spaceport found in Star Wars, though with much less sand. Pagliarulo says the city is home to the Free Star Collective, a confederation that comprises three star systems. The city’s inhabitants share a belief in personal freedom and live walled off from beings known as Ashta, predators described as “a cross between a wolf and a velociraptor.”

Finally, there is concept art of Starfield‘s “pleasure city,” Neon. Elevated above what seems to be an endless ocean, the location houses the Xenofresh Corporation, which turned to selling a drug called Aurora after originally arriving on the planet to simply catch fish. Neon attracts those from all over who are interested in enjoying the city’s many offerings.

Starfield will launch exclusively on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox Game Pass on November 11, 2022. In the meantime, you can watch the Starfield concept art location insights below.
