Steam To Begin Distributing 2K Games Products

Following an announcement earlier this month that Valve’s Steam service would begin distributing several popular Activision products comes news that Take-Two Interactive’s 2K Games will bring games to the online service later this week.

Steam has enjoyed the spotlight lately with today’s release of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, the critical success of titles such as Defcon, the Activision announcement which brings Call of Duty to the service, and now titles from Sid Meier’s Firaxis including Civilization III, Civilization IV, and Sid Meier’s Pirates!. Also included in the deal is the RTS Shattered Union.

Comments from Gabe Newell, Valve’s co-founder and president, leave the door open for future 2K titles. In a statement Newell said, “Through this initial agreement with 2K, Steam’s game library expands to include four great strategy games. We look forward to delivering more from 2K in the future.”
