It’s been a long time since we’ve entered the Upside Down, but Netflix has finally set a release date for Stranger Things season 4. Actually, it’s set two premiere dates. The fourth season is being broken up into two parts because of its length and the fact that the second half doesn’t seem to be quite done yet. The first “volume” of Stranger Things 4 will debut with a May 27 release date, and the second will land on July 1.
Stranger Things fans, at long last we can finally reveal when the new season will be premiering!!

In a retro-styled letter to the fans, series creators Matt and Ross Duffer stated that the long wait has been because of the immense amount of work going into this season, not to mention the pandemic. The show has nine scripts and over 800 pages with filming lasting nearly two years. That’s good news for those who want more Stranger Things. Unfortunately, the letter also said that we won’t be getting that much more: The show had a planned story from the very beginning, and that story is going to conclude with season 5. Not stretching out a show to fill space is always the best way to go, and it sounds like more stories are coming in the Stranger Things universe anyway.
The fourth season will pick up six months after the destructive conclusion of the third season, with everyone still reeling from what happened in Hawkins and, even worse, the kids having to go to high school. The group of stalwart friends is now separated for the first time, and as luck would have it, a supernatural evil is about to come to town. The mystery behind that evil, however, may finally bring a conclusion to the problems with the Upside Down.
Netflix also released four location posters that fans can pour over to find hints about the upcoming season.
