To get a good look at one massive Dune-inspired monstrosity, you’ll need to complete two steps on Rig.

This can be done locally. Jump into Multiplayer, select Slayer as your game mode, then start on Rig.

Halo 5 Easter Egg
  • 1. Look in the center of the map from the upper layers. There’s a large opening with a circular platform jutting from one wall. Ground-pound this platform and it will partially break and bend downward.
  • 2. This activates two silos on the exterior of the map overlooking the forest. The two sealed chambers open to reveal cores. They’re in one corner side-by-side.
  • 3. Destroy both cores and the sandworm will appear in the distance. Look toward the large crawler vehicle in the far distance!

Taking a closer look, you’ll see the sandworm is heavily inspired by the similar creatures found in the science fiction series Dune.

Just think about what else must be lurking in the shadows of Halo 5, still hidden, and waiting to be found. Let us know if you’ve found any other crazy Guardians Easter eggs — drop us a comment!
