Nintendo’s upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl was given a perfect 40/40 review score by respected Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, but unfortunately will also be delayed.

Originally slated for a North American release of February 10, a message posted on the Smash Bros. Dojo by creator Masahiro Sakuri now says the game has been pushed back until March 9. According to an MCV report, the game is now targeted for a February 10 release in Japan.

“Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to changed the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th,” the message on the Smash Bros. website reads. “I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.” Reasons for the delay were not given.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is only the seventh game in Famitsu history to achieve a perfect review score. Other games that have accomplished the feat are The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soulcalibur, Vagrant Story, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Nintendogs and Final Fantasy XI.
