Superman: Man of Tomorrow Trailer Brings the Threat of Lobo & Parasite Daily Planet intern Clark Kent

DC Comics’ animated efforts have a long history, and the first trailer for the next one is now here. Superman: Man of Tomorrow comes from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and is an original story about the early years of Clark Kent and Superman and how he becomes a hero. It will release this summer on digital, 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD.

Interestingly, despite this being a tale of Superman‘s early days, (Clark is a Daily Planet intern.) the setting looks quite futuristic, giving the movie a strange retro-futuristic vibe. The villains are also an interesting choice for an origin story, as Lobo and Parasite are the main focus of the film, though Lex Luthor does play a role. Finally, Martian Manhunter is present, perhaps teaching a young Clark Kent some facts about being a hero, much like he does for Supergirl on The CW’s Supergirl.

TheĀ Superman: Man of Tomorrow voice cast is pretty stacked, with Darren Criss voicing Clark Kent and Zachary Quinto tackling Lex Luthor. They’re supported by a long list of actors including Alexandra Daddario as Lois Lane, Brett Dalton as Parasite, Ryan Hurst as Lobo, and Ike Amadi as Martian Manhunter.

With the DC Animated Universe closing out one of its longest-running storylines with Justice League: Apokolips War, it will be interesting to see if DC continues building off this film or considers this a one-off movie. The only other announced project they have in the works at the moment is a two-part adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween.
