New test footage from Star Wars: Underworld, a canceled TV series originally announced in 2005, has been unearthed.

The video is divided into two parts: a scripted sequence following a hooded woman buying sensitive information in a grimy market, and a behind-the-scenes segment showing the filming of the footage. According to Polygon, the YouTube video compiles two pieces of footage hosted on the Vimeo page of VFX house Stargate Studios, though those seem to have been removed.

Star Wars: Underworld was originally announced during Star Wars Celebration III back in 2005. The series would have centered on the Coruscant underworld in the period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It would have explored the grimier aspects of the universe, with the similar canceled video game Star Wars: 1313 being a tie-in. However, due to the prohibitive costs of producing high quality CGI at the time, the project languished for years, being put on hold in 2010.

The series could have been long-running, with George Lucas stating at one point that an estimated 50 hours of script were waiting to be filmed.

The project’s fate since Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm has been unconfirmed, though Disney has moved ahead with other live-action series, including The Mandalorian and an apparently embattled series set to follow Obi-Wan Kenobi.
