Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco’s The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me just got a story trailer, setting a release window for this fall on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S. In addition to serving as an introduction for this chapter’s new cast members, the trailer opens the doors to the creepy hotel the game takes place in. The Devil in Me almost looks more Saw than The Shining, but you can take a look for yourself in the story trailer below.
Supermassive loves to put Hollywood talent in its horror video games, and The Devil in Me is no different. This time, Oscar-nominated star Jessie Buckley (Men) joins the fray as a member of the Lonnit Entertainment TV crew, which is investigating the hotel after receiving an enigmatic phone call from a man named Granthem Du’Met. The crew is promised a tour of the building, which contains a faithful recreation of the H. H. Holmes murder castle. However, the crew soon finds out that they will receive more than a simple tour:
“Observed, isolated, and manipulated like rats in a maze, it soon becomes clear that the crew’s checkout is compromised, and they will have to make some impossible choices that they might live to regret or just not live at all!”
Those who preorder The Devil in Me will gain early access to “The Curator’s Cut,” which adds previously unavailable scenes with different playable characters. Then later this summer, those in the United States and Canada will have the opportunity to preorder the Animatronic Collector’s Edition. Although there are no pricing details available yet, Bandai Namco says that this special version comes with an Animatronic bust figurine, a postcard and envelope, a Lonnit Entertainment business card, and a map of the hotel island.
The Devil in Me arrives this fall.
