Blizzard has announced the official end dates for the first season of Overwatch competitive play, as well as the rewards you can expect to receive.
The first season of Overwatch Competitive Play is ending soon. Blizzard announced over the weekend that the official end date for Season 1 will be Wednesday, August 17 at 5:00 PM PT. There will be about three weeks of downtime before the second season kicks off. Season 2 is currently set to begin on September 6, but stressed that the date could still change, as the company is working on “system improvements” that could affect the launch.
Of course, with the season ending, it’s time to talk about the rewards. Anyone who completed their placement matches will be eligible to receive a special spray and player icon, which will be added to their account as soon as the season ends. Anyone who got into the top 500 on your platform and region will receive an extra player icon and animated spray.
Additionally, players will receive Competitive Points based on their skill rating at the end of the season as follows:
- SR 0-39: 10 CPs
- SR 40-45: 20 CPs
- SR 46-49: 40 CPs
- SR 50-52: 60 CPs
- SR 53-55: 80 CPs
- SR 56-59: 120 CPs
- SR 60-64: 200 CPs
- SR 65+: 300 CPs
