The Legend of Zelda Goes Live Action in Gerudo Valley Violin Video

Violinist Taylor Davis has released a new video paying tribute to the music and look of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

While my interest in the Zelda franchise kind of dimmed in the post-N64 years, that era has always held a special place in my heart for a variety of reasons. One of the not-so-small ones was, of course, the music. While I was always little put off by the classic Zelda theme not being included in Ocarina of Time, the game’s soundtrack boasted more than its fair share of gorgeous and now iconic music. Standing nice and tall among the best of the game’s soundtrack was easily the Gerudo Valley theme.

That in mind, it’s shouldn’t be too hard to understand why I so thoroughly enjoyed Taylor Davis’s recently released music video based on her rendition of the classic desert tune. On its own, Davis’s version would be more than enough to catch my attention. That said, Davis goes all out in her video, throwing herself into a live action recreation of the game itself.

Granted, most of that just amounts to her running around in a Link costume with the game’s interface plastered over the video footage, but it’s still a joy to watch and really puts across how much she loves Zelda. Not that she had much to prove seeing that she put out an entire album of Zelda cover songs last year. All in all, this is a must see video that should put a smile on your face regardless of whether you’re a Zelda super-fan or a casual follower of the series.
