Rockstar Games is boldly going where no other sane development studio has gone before, specifically into the realm of unclothed wangs courtesy of The Lost and Damned DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV.
The trouser snake comes off the leash during a cut scene between Johnny Klebbitz, the game’s protagonist, and Congressman Thomas Stubbs, who’s getting a massage when the two characters first meet. Apparently the Congressman has an underdeveloped sense of modesty, spending much of the encounter speaking to Klebbitz in the buff, with his junk on prominent display. Kotaku describes the Congressional love muscle as “a very poorly groomed, uncut and unabashed set of man tools.”
The DLC is rated M (Mature) by the ESRB in spite of the wangtacular display, although content descriptors point out the game has “nudity,” as opposed to the “partial nudity” of Grand Theft Auto IV. Will the rating stand once the inevitable ejaculation of outrage begins? I expect it will, but with the inclusion of free-range tallywhackers Rockstar appears to be almost daring videogame critics to do something about it. The studio behind Grand Theft Auto, Bully, Manhunt and others is obviously no stranger to controversy, but even by those standards this is pushing it.
Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned DLC comes out on February 17, exclusively for the Xbox 360.
