Despite the fact that the conclusion to the latest Star Wars trilogy is coming out in just a few months, it’s hard to argue that there is anything more exciting in Disney’s Star Wars universe than The Mandalorian. The show has dropped a brand new trailer, and it once again shows just how well this series seems to be capturing the magic and feeling of the original trilogy.
The series, which debuts when Disney+ launches on Nov. 12, is set some time after the fall of the Empire after Episode VI and follows the titular Mandalorian as he works as a bounty hunter on the outskirts of the galaxy. As you can see, it’s a dirty job and involves a lot of fighting, shooting, and flying. The trailer also drops looks at a bunch of the cast, including Taika Waititi’s IG-11. We only get brief glimpses of almost everyone else, but that’s Werner Herzog’s voice narrating over the entire thing as he monologues to Pedro Pascal’s title character.
If you’re not impressed yet, just read this cast list: Pascal, Waititi, Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, and Herzog. Need more? How about the lineup of directors the show pulled in: Joining Jon Favreau (who also wrote and developed the series) are Star Wars Rebels creator Dave Filoni, Waititi, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, and Bryce Dallas Howard. It’s hard not to get excited with names like that attached and trailers as strong as this coming out.
