If you’ve been looking forward to PvP in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, you can look forward to trying it out later this summer.
There’s been no official PvP mode in Ghost Recon: Wildlands since it launched, but Ubisoft has plans to change that with the Ghost War add-on later this year. If you’re wondering how the mode might play, you’ll get the chance to find out in a planned open bets that’s coming to all platforms “later this summer.”
While there’s no specific release date for the beta or the add-on, Ubi has said that’s it’s planned as a free update this fall.
Ghost War puts two teams of four head-to-head in what Ubisoft describes as a “deathmatch experience that builds on the tactical squad play from the main game.” You won’t use your character from the main game, but instead will able to choose from “a variety of classes.” The maps are based on the environments in the main game, and are “large-scale” and open. The new mode will also add some new mechanics, including a suppression system and sound markers, as you can see in the video above.
Ubisoft invited some community members to Paris to try out the new mode, and you can see how that turned out over on the official Ghost Recon website.
