Netflix has been slowly dripping the content out for their upcoming adaptation of The Witcher books starring Henry Cavill, and today we randomly have four new photos for the series from a set visit by Corriere Della Sera.
Given how tight-lipped the streamer has been about this series, (We only know the likely release date thanks to an accident.) these four images are pretty revealing. One is simply Cavill as series hero Geralt, brooding hardcore in the great hall of the castle Cintra. However, the other three give us a bit more than we are used to. The image of a hand holding a monster’s claw is definitely intriguing. Could that be a dead griffin or some other creature? Maybe it’s even alive. Then you’ve got one of the clearest looks at Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and finally, and most importantly, another image of Geralt riding his trusty steed, Roach. That is, of course, all anyone really wants to see.
That’s all we’ll get until Netflix starts ramping up marketing for The Witcher a bit more. That may come in a major blast or possibly the week before, as Netflix is notorious for not even announcing release dates until insanely close to a series premiere. We do know that the series has finished shooting and that it is confirmed to land some time this year, with the aforementioned “accident” pointing to Dec. 17.
