Thor: Love and Thunder Teaser Trailer Is About Thor Finding Himself

4 Thor: Love and Thunder teaser trailer Natalie Portman Odinson Guardians of the Galaxy cameo appearance Jane Foster

Lately, it has felt like Marvel Studios has put all its marketing eggs completely in the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness basket, which releases in theaters this May. It had not shown a single second of footage for the fourth installment in the Thor Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise — until now. The Thor: Love and Thunder teaser trailer is here, revealing Thor is on a journey of self-discovery now — and it involves the Guardians of the Galaxy and sometimes-love interest Jane Foster.

We always knew Jane Foster was going to appear somehow as a “new Thor” in Thor: Love and Thunder, and the teaser trailer provides our first glimpse of her in the costume and holding the hammer. However, the trailer itself focuses almost exclusively on the Thor we already know, including some adventures he has gone on with the Guardians of the Galaxy since he launched off into space with them at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. It does not seem that Thor and Starlord have gotten much closer in the interim.

Thor: Love and Thunder is directed by Taika Waititi, who also directed the smash hit Thor: Ragnarok, and it will arrive in theaters on July 8, 2022. Hopefully, Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine” will actually be in the movie as well.
