That’s a wrap for Thor: Love and Thunder, but don’t tell Chris Hemsworth’s biceps, which seem to be larger than humanly possible at the moment. The actor announced that the upcoming Marvel film directed by Taika Waititi wrapped up by sharing a photo on Instagram (above) of him and Waititi being super casual and definitely not flexing at all.
“That’s a wrap on Thor Love and Thunder, it’s also national don’t flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate,” Hemsworth wrote beside the photo. The buffed-up Hemsworth has no need to flex in a sleeveless T-shirt, while Waititi appears in costume as the character Korg. “The film is gonna be batshit crazy off the wall funny and might also pull a heart string or two. Lots of love, lots of thunder! Thank you to all the cast and crew who made this another incredible Marvel journey. Buckle in, get ready and see ya in cinemas!!”
National Don’t Flex Day is not a real day as far as we can tell, but obviously, Hemsworth would suck at it if it were. It appears that fat Thor, whom we last saw heading off with the Guardians of the Galaxy at the end of Avengers: Endgame, will not be making a return for Thor: Love and Thunder. However, there will be other Thors. Natalie Portman is set to return as Jane Foster, but the actress will also at some point don the mantle of Mighty Thor in the film.
She and Hemsworth will be joined in the cast by Waititi and Christian Bale, who is playing the film’s villain Gorr the God Butcher. The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy will also play a role in the film alongside cameos from Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, and Russell Crowe as Zeus.
Thor: Love and Thunder will release on Feb. 11, 2022.
