Japan, as always, brought some stunningly good cosplay to Tokyo Game Show this year.
One of the highlights of my yearly voyage to Tokyo Game Show is checking out the amazing, top-notch cosplay that is always on display. This year was no different, and I’ve put together this little gallery highlighting the best of the best.
First up we have this shiny trio of lady knights from Saint Seiya: Leo Aiolia, Gemini Cain, Pisces Aphrodite?
As always, here is good ol’ Link.
Easily the best group cosplay I saw were these Super Smash Bros. cosplayers.
These girls are cosplaying characters from the popular Japanese girl’s anime: Pretty Cure.
These Resident Evil cosplayers were probably just at the show to have a go at Umbrella Corps.
It’s Parappa The Rapper! Simple, but cute.
These ladies (yes, they are all ladies) pulled off an absolutely stunning Yakuza group cosplay.
Japan has well and truly been gripped by Splatoon fever, as was evidenced by the amount of Splatoon cosplayers.
A Metal Gear Solid solider, complete with high-alert exclamation point. He probably spotted…
…this Snake cosplayer!
Stupid sexy Cammy.
League of Legends isn’t quite as popular in Japan as the rest of the world, but I think Annie is just universally adorable.
Though, I must admit, not quite as adorable as this family of Ghost in the Shell cosplayers.
Here’s a full crew of Monster Hunter types.
Greninja from Pokemon.
Fox McCloud, ready for battle! Do a barrel roll!
Here’s a fairly impressive cardboard box Optimus Prime.
A Team Rocket grunt, ready to unleash his Zubats.
This is a pretty spot-on Hotline Miami costume.
Of course there would be plenty of Final Fantasy cosplayers at TGS, but this group with a full-body suit Moogle really took the cake.
Ryu from Street Fighter taking a fighting pose.
Last but certainly not least, this absolutely amazing Megaman!
That’s all for this gallery, and also the last of our Tokyo Game Show coverage for this year. Be sure to check out part 1 of our gallery, as well as the rest of the coverage from the show.
